Appointments
In order to facilitate access to our medical services we now offer different types of appointments: pre-bookable appointments which can be booked in advance, or on the day appointments’ that can only be booked on the same day. Appointments are of 10 minutes each and can be booked either in person at reception or over the phone.
Patients have the right to see a doctor of their choice, within availability. If you would like to see a particular doctor, please let the receptionist know at the time of booking.
Urgent appointments
Emergencies will always be dealt with, either by our clinicians or if this is not possible by referring the patient to the local walk-in centre based at the North Middlesex Hospital.
Telephone consultations
We now also offer telephone consultations; if you are unable to see a doctor on the same day or if you feel that your ‘problem’ does not require a ‘face-to-face’ consultation but could successfully be dealt with over the phone, please let the receptionist know and you will be given a time when a doctor will ring you back. The receptionist might ask you details of your symptoms to facilitate the doctors.
Keeping and cancelling appointments
Please arrive promptly and remember to cancel your appointment as soon as possible if you can no longer keep it: this will enable other patients to benefit from it.
Interpreting Services
The reception team can book telephone interpreting for a range of languages. An interpreter can also be pre-booked for a specific consultation if required. Please let reception know in advance if you require this service.
Chaperoning
For intimate examinations or procedures the health professionals may use a chaperone. If you would like to be accompanied by a chaperone please tell the doctor who will arrange for a fully trained member of staff to attend.
